> Я тебя понимаю, детские воспоминания can go both ways.
There, I said it, you know - but it is true . As far as the anglosaxon culture and its "derivatives" around the world - you just don't get it or get it but don't like it. The truth is the music culture in the West is considerably richer than the Soviet music culture ( to put it mildly).

From my point of view, it is more important, what percentage of population knows about culture than just the fact that this culture exist. What I can hear in a subway people listening on their phones - techno and rap, I would not call it a music. May be in UK it is different.

I never heard anybody saying that here. Just the opposite, people do cherish their roots and heritage. In part, because they are respected for that.

Thing is - people listen to different music as it suits their mood. Different genres - classic, techno, pop, metal, rock, etc,. and subgenres - there's zillions - as it suits their mood and the atmosphere. Obviously, you'd rather listen to Chaikovsky's Swan Lake Suite in a decent theatre, whereas when you are gearing up for a working day - a techno track will do - it's day to day life mate you know, unless you spend your life on your private yacht in the Bahamas most of the time. The hip hop - it's dance music really - some of it is good, no need to be snobbish. I don't want to argue but if you think that Rozenbaum is music, then there's not much left further to discuss, just let's agree to disagree.

Can you imagine people crying after listening: ц-ц-ц-ц-ц-ц-ц-ц-ц-ц nonstop, and then you look at the person and realize that there are very little brains in there. Sorry, but with all Russian problems, they still manage to push culture into masses. And the audience at Rosembaum's concert was in real ecstasy.

Are you nuts? What culture , what masses? Mate, you are gone, seriously gone. You don't have a clue what you are on about. The music culture in this world comes from Britain, US, Canada, Australia, etc. I got to go now anyway.
