I would understand your philosophy if you were talking about someone who just walked into money - won the lottery or suddenly inherited a fortune from some unknown and "never heard about before" relative. Those who made an effort to make money - by having a new idea, successful business, etc. - can handle money well. The same goes (even more so) for those who were born into it, they are used to their lifestyles. I don't understand what price tag you are talking about and where you get your ideas from, honestly. No offence.

I agree, it is a bit counter-intuitive. But in case of rich kids, often works more complicated math. Fortunes of their parent(s) - creates a deficit (of fortune) for their kids. Sounds abstract, but when you look at real life, looks practical.

This is also why so many of Silicon Valley billionaires are liberals and try to give away to charity and other projects as much of their fortune as they can. Because they are smart and understand.

I didn't get what you meant but I think from our previous conversations I can conclude that you are pro immigration regardless, as it makes the labour market in the native country more competitive and according to you, the rich - say upper middle class and upwards - lost their competitiveness and their kids lose out to immigrants in white collar professions. Well, I am not pro immigration regardless. The competitiveness is achieved through accepting only limited amount of quality immigration into the country - highly skilled immigration. Or where people are coming to fill the gaps in skill shortages (like NHS nursing for example). This is like the Australian points system , which works. As for the rich - upper middle class and upwards - they didn't lose competitiveness at all, peer pressure and competition in these groups of population is high . In fact there is a lot more people working now from the upper classes than ever before in the UK in highly skilled professions, often in top and high powered roles.

It is not just the Silicon Valley Billionaires. In the UK everyone gives to charity - even people who are on benefits - not as much, but they do. With people here - it is in the blood . People just feel guilty and ashamed not to do it. Middle classes do lots for charity - sports, fairs to raise funds at schools, lots of charity events. The richer - the more they give to charity, with the Queen and the Royal Family being the patrons for most charities in the country.

Do you know what did Trump give to charities? They say almost nothing.
And in terms of immigration, UK does not owe to the world as much as US. UK does not consume 25% of world resources, and UK did not print new 10 trillion dollars recently.
