Oh, yes. My very close friend is from Moscow. Her husband left her for another woman when she was a student at Ottawa U. She had nervous breakdown and it was extremely difficult time for both of us. She threw up in the bus. She failed one of her courses and once I was passing near her building I saw her in the window frame ready to jump. I don’t remember how I got to her apartment. I ran like a crazy and was out of my breath and talked her out of this stupid idea to die because of this useless guy. I called him and told him that if something happened to her I’ll kill him too. That was bizarre situation. Guess what? He recently found a third one… And my friend said to the woman he left her for that he is cheating on both of them. This is what I mean when I call them pigs. We are very lucky not having one.

Oh, I see. When I was talking about you know whom — I meant something different. What I meant was the total inability to respect other people's personal space (even if it is a virtual personal space), making assumptions on other people's behalf, not taking «no» for an answer and imposing oneself on others. This is not characteristic of the Western mentality in general- men, women, whoever. Usually people here take the message and understand quite quickly — if their company is not wanted and do not persist trying to impose themselves on others — so much so that they literally have to be told to «F off» and not once — but numerous times and still not getting the message. And in the case of who we were talking about — still not getting the message even then. That is what I meant when I was saying there has got to be something wrong with the person — be it lack of dignity, self respect, respect for other people's wishes or just some kind of complex or mental illness.
The story of your friend is very tragic. Her husband was really a pig. But to be fair, cheats and womanizers exist everywhere, and can be of any nationality — not just Russian. People do break up and leave their partners for someone else — that's not unheard of anywhere in the world. I had a friend — she doesn't live in London anymore, this was when I was pregnant with my first son — we used to work together at the time and she was also pregnant. Her and her husband (both English) — had been trying for a kid for a while with no success and eventually tried the IVF treatment. And with IVF — if successful — there is a high chance one can have twins or multiples. She was told she was having triplets. Her husband, who was cheating on her with another woman (it later turned out), didn't like the prospect of having 3 kids with her and left her as soon as he found out that she was having triplets. About 6 months after she gave birth (which was a complicated birth as you can imagine — with triplets — Cesarean section, etc) — she was diagnosed with breast cancer — probably it happened cause of all the stress she had to endure. Her then already ex-husband didn't help in any way or wasn't there for her apart from sending her child maintenance money which is what he had to do by law anyway. And she didn't have a lot of family around her either and wasn't particularly rich. She was helped a lot by good friends, community and also McMillan Cancer charity. I remember sharing my nanny with her at times as well — for free. She pulled through, as far as I know the triplets are doing great now (they are 11 now like my first son) and she has a new partner and a great job. The main thing was — thank God the doctors spotted her cancer quickly enough and it was totally cured. So — what I am trying to say I guess — there are pigs/cheats/irresponsible characters, etc. — amongst men in any nationality. It is just cause you had to witness your dear friend going through shit — that stuck in your mind — understandably.
As for myself — I am very lucky in my second marriage — having a very responsible, loving and devoted husband. I couldn't imagine having kids with anyone who is not like that. In fact, after so many years of marriage — we are like part of each other now, I can't even imagine for a second — him not being there. With my first marriage — we just got married too young and both had quite selfish and bombastic personalities. Thinking back on it — I think our trouble was that we were too much like each other and too obstinate, unable to compromise, so we rowed a lot and had a lot of fights. You just got married to a fantastic man by the sound of it and this is just wonderful. Yeah, we are very lucky. It is nice to appreciate what one has — not everyone is as lucky. Some people never meet their true love and there is a lot of unhappiness in this world — broken hearts, broken families, etc. We are not in that position and very very lucky to be surrounded by true love and happiness.

Не, вряд ли Британский. По логике должен быть собственный. А так там круто….только природа и дайвинг. У моего друга там бизнес. По-любому завидую белой завистью.Что может быть лучше путешествий!

Ничего)) Я люблю путешествия. Мы с мужем оба профессионалы, каждый в своей области и можем себе это позволить. Это отличное чувство, когда ощущаешь, что мир у твоих ног и ты можешь просто купить билет и оказаться на другом конце света. Сейчас мы в Mahogany Bay на частном острове French Key. Завтра будем на Каймановых островах.

Antigua and Barbuda - самые top остров но опять же — только потому что там много rich Englishmen — Lord Sainsbury's holiday house is there, Richard Branson's, etc. The English community is still very strong there and fighting for the mangroves to be preserved, etc, etc.

Ты знаешь — Карибы такие красивые — да таже Ямайка — я раньше думала — зачем оттуда люди в Британию стремятся — у нас куча Jamaican immigrants — especially in London. Но одно дело там в 5-и звездах отдыхать, совсем другое — жить. Кстати — ты себе plaits сделала?
Я когда в Антиге была — сразу по приезду сделала. Там мне на пляже местная леди — сделала и с beads - мне кстати шло. Но главное удобно. А еще я там у местных купила шляпу из пальмовых листьев смешную — до сих пор в гараже лежит — я как-нибудь сфотаю.

Там женщин больше чем мужчин чисто численно. В Британии к примеру наоборот — мужчин больше чем женщин и мужчины очень красивые — в отличие от русских мужчин. А женщины там красивые, но и у нас британок красивых много. То что здесь женщины законом более защищены — это да. Плюс у них выше чувство независимости и собственного достоинства — мне так кажется. Опять же — мне кажется часть причины в том что там мало мужчин и много женщин. Я об этом на ВВС смотрела documentary и даже на Раша тудей такие documentaries выходили — вот сразу нагуглилось Desperate Housewives: 10 mln Russian brides on the shelf

Нет, не сделала. Мы в этот раз не сидели на пляже, чтобы это сделать. У нас были snorkeling, water tubing and zip lining Сегодня последний день на корабле. Канадцы обычно пару раз за зиму выезжают из страны в тёплые страны, чтобы погреться.
