I'm a bit sad Alina will skate to Phantom of the Opera and Carmen next season. I understand that her team has chosen these 2 warhorses to cover up her lack of artistry (compared to skaters like Carolina Kostner, Evgenia Medvedeva or Satoko Miyahara). But I don't think it is a best choice. There are plenty of other powerful and dramatic pieces of music to do it. Using Carmen and POTO it's like admitting — yes, her artistry is not there yet

Here everyone is still chewing over the reasons why England lost yesterday as overall they didn’t play that badly. Everyone came to the conclusion that our goal keeper is shit, whereas the Belgian team’s one is considered the best in the world — he is the Chelsea goal keeper — don’t know how to spell his name.

Why are you sad re Phantom of the Opera track? That’s one of my favourite musicals. It is by Andrew Lloyd Webber — the British Composer.

P. S. He is a very famous modern English composer actually — produced lots of musicals here in London and in New York. Phantom, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats and much much more

This is a little medley — a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber made by the English kids

Actually here by «symbols of faith» people mean something entirely different. It is indeed Cross and Crucifix. They are the main symbols. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_symbolis... As regards prayers — there are zillions of them. At every service both in a Catholic Church (any) and a CoE church — a priest would have a different theme — sometimes it is to do with the world events, other times with references to Biblical events, but Jesus is always present. There are prayers for all sorts of things — for mourning, for strength, for compassion, for forgiveness, for every day, etc. In their services both the Catholic Church and the CoE are very similar. The main difference is in the set up (how they are run).

P. S.It is very very hot here at the moment — a massive heatwave. Wimbledon already started and I don't have a clue as to how tennis players put up with the heat. It was the same last year — we had a massive heatwave during the Wimbledon Championship. I actually live very near Wimbledon (15 minute drive). Wimbledon is SW19 (South West of London post code). We used to go there a lot, but really don't want to drag the kids over there in this heat. Tomorrow my daughter's drama school are putting up a production of the Adams family in the theatre in Dulwich (this is SE22 — Margaret Thatcher used to live there, it is a nice area). She has a lot of lines and a song in the play and they told us to comb her hair back and make it look as messy as possible, they will do the make up themselves. We are going to drop her off two hours before the show and then we are going to go and watch the show. They make us pay for the tickets to watch our own daughter!!!! But we have a 25% discount. That 's crazy. But there you go.

How are things with you? You live in Moscow, did you get any tickets to watch any football matches? Some last minute fans are rushing to Moscow now from here in the hope that people will sell them the tickets to watch another England game. England v Columbia on Tuesday will be in Moscow. My workmates tried to tell me today that Russia qualified for the next stage really easily cause they have the crowd behind them, since they are hosting the Cup. I said «No, they qualified cause they played well.» To which the answer was «Come on, be fair they haven't qualified once in the last thirty years». My husband always agrees with me when I say something good about Russia, with my workmates — it's different. But to be fair, we don't have a lot of Russian players in the Premier League and that is probably the reason why they think that. In general, I noticed that with football — people tend to get more «nationalistic» as the championship progresses. When England drops out which it probably will — the only question is when, at what stage — then people will drop all the nationalism and start supporting some other team. In fact — if a miracle happened and if the Russian team made it into the finals say against Spain, Portugal, Brazil or Belgium — they are the favourites now (and of course providing England dropped out) — the English fans in that case would 100% support the Russian team as they would be the underdog. Supporting the underdog is the English mentality you see, cause it promotes competition.

I'm not so sad about POTO track like I am about Carmen (there are thousans of them every year ).
POTO + something new would be nice. But both POTO and Carmen are overused pieces of misuc in figure skating.
Now I hope Daniil (her choreographer) will be able to create something that will be interesting to general public.

Symbol of Faith is a Cyrillic name for it. It is usually called the Creed in Catholicism. Probably it is also called the Creed in the COE.

It is not just another prayer. It is short recitation of the dogmas.
It's like a constitution for a country. Here a short article about its history

I'm sure it will be very interesting and exciting for your daughter.
I think they should give free invitations to parents of the actors and actresses.
Hope you will have a lot of fun

Last time I was on footbal match... it was more than 10 years ago Not so much into it.
Usually I buy tickets to some conserts and figure skating. There are also plenty of theatres in Moscow. Last time I went there… probably it was in April

To be fair, the group was perfect for Russia (Saudi Arabia, Egypt etc).
But our team was fighting hard too!)

I put out some pics — although these are the pics of the portraits they made at the general rehearsal — for theatre agencies, etc. And today they were giving them out to the parents — just a couple . There was no photography allowed at the actual play, but I managed to snap the stage before the beginning of the play. She played Wednesday Adams — the littlest daughter, she did brilliantly. I will delete the pics later obviously, but here they are.

P.S. The production was very different from the famous Adams Family movie and there were elements of musical in it - like lots of singing, but not all singing, it wasn't all "musical", most of it was just a play.
