Actually, this does sound a bit sinister. To be honest — I am a bit scared to go to Russia now. Cause I wrote lots of things here that your authorities wouldn't like. So — maybe I won't go. We here can say pretty much anything we like, you should read the posts on the Telegraph about May and Johnson and the rest, and the Telegraph is the flagship Tory paper, no one even bothers to delete them there — no moderation of that sort, let alone «report it» to someone. People slag the Government off on the Government paper. But this is England, democracy and freedom of speech.

Situation is not that bad as you think. No one will arrest you for saying «Путин вор» unless you take part in some unauthorized protests.
More than that your account here is not verified.

Oh, that weirdo looking queer piece of a twat — yeah, I remember. This is another dig he is trying to make at the men working for the coach? He honestly needs to get a life, find himself a good looking lover or something. He is just jealous that two good looking people work successfully together (and probably don't happen to be queer) and makes up some silly stories. Does anybody really take him seriously? I am shocked.

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike gays, I have some gay friends — both male and female. But they are cool. That guy definitely has some sort of a problem. Your Daniil wears Moncler jacket I can see — ironically enough, this brand is very popular with gay men here. Maybe he is gay as well, which is not a problem — lots of people in performing arts industry are — including in my daughter's performing arts school. It is just the way it is. But those constant attacks on the coach as regards people she employs — like — if they happen to be good looking men, there must be something going on there — well, it is ludicrous and no one normal would take such stuff seriously.

Yeah, I am just thinking about positive stuff now — holiday and Spain

Do you remember this summer track by Luis Fonsi, Justin Bieber, Daddy Yunki — it was massive around the world

This is another Spanish summer wonder — came out last year, but took off in the charts this summer — coming out of the roof top of every car here in London at the moment — it is hot here now, +34 C in London tomorrow — also by Luis Fonsi, but with Demi Lovato

The thing is. In Canada or in the US you just pay your coach 100 USD an hour and that's all. You can try to find sponsor or pay it yourself.

In Russia skaters can train for free. For example AAA don't pay for anything but dresses. Probably, Eteri helps them with dresses too.
But there is an unwritten rule that you gave some % of your prize money to your coach. Eteri's salary is ridiculous (smth like 500 USD). She makes her living using the money her students share with her.

That is why some other Russian coaches hate Eteri since her students winning everything in Russia and almost everything abroad.

They are incredibly cute cubs. Just watching it. Hard to believe they will grow into huge animals one day. Beautiful animals and vicious predators. But little ones are all helpless and cute. I photographed this lavender bush today just in front of our house. I love lavender (will post the pic in a minute).

I got to go now, but this is a great saying they say here in England a lot

Tomorrow is a mystery

Yesterday is a history

Today is a gift,

And that is why they call it «the present».

(There is play on words here — «present» (gift) and «present» (as in — now times). The saying is about appreciating the moment one lives in.

That means that the competition in Russia is much fairer. Here in England it is less fair. You know during the Olympics 2012 in London — a lot of statistics came out whereby they found out — that most English medal winners — pure English — born, bred in England, etc. — were from either private schools or from private background of some kind. And only 7% of the population can afford to send a kid to a private school here, it is £25K a year per child (that is just school fees, there is uniform, out of school tuition, etc.) The average salary in London is £26K per year (that is in London, elsewhere it is less) and then there is mortgage, bills, the rest. Me and my husband are lucky really, mostly because he originally comes from an upper class family, otherwise we would be f*ckd — well, not f"ckd, but wouldn't have it as nice. It is the same with the elite sports here — like tennis, golf, equestrian sports (horse riding), polo — all are expensive, so only the rich get to have a go. So — your system is better, more inclusive, and therefore — more talent has a chance to come out.

Yes, for example Zagitova's was for lower middle class family. She couldn't afford a proper dress at first. So Eteri gave her old Evgenia's dress. Now her family is doing quite well after she became a star. There is no way she could pay for her training in Canada or US when she was junior.
At goldenskate forum American and Canadian fans talk a lot about support young athletes need.

But our system also has certain disadvantages. For example only most successful coaches can earn a lot of money. So coaches push their students too hard sometimes. But of course every coach has a reputation, so parents are usually aware of the coach training methods and work ethics.

Btw, that queer figure skating observer called Alena's «Angel» choreo cringe.
It's so ridiculous I wasn't even angry at him for that. He tries to prove that Daniil is a bad choreographer.
I know dozens die hard figure skating fans who call this program a masterpiece. I showed it to my friends and relatives and I assure you no negative comments were given. So this guy didn't really harm Alena or Eteri. He just showed once again how biased he is.

You know — your Eteri is amazing, what she is doing — well, it sounds great. One can have a talent — whatever class they come from. You do realise that in England — it is a class system, despite democracy and all that — it is in a way like a cast system in India. Social mobility is not easy here at all. If anyone tells you it is easy -forget it. I feel guilty in a way, cause I know damn well, that I was lucky and married into it here, I mean — I would have loved Jon — whatever class, but — you know what I mean.

Whatever the methods — sport is sport, without pushing — coaches don't get anywhere. The main thing is that Eteri has integrity, doesn't she? Everyone «pushes» in sports, she is more successful at it and brings results, hence — all the inherent problems of the sport get laid on her shoulders and all the blame is placed at her door. That is what it looks like — from the side.
