>>It's so hard to answer that cause there are so many. At the moment I watch a lot of children's ballets — cause of my daughter — last one I watched was in the Peacock Theatre in London (it's the Children's theatre) — it was Canterville Ghost (Oscar Wilde, musical interpretation by Artem Vasiliev) — it was contemporary, I loved many performances there.

First of all!
Happy 20th birthday, dear Yulia!
Your career was short, but your star is among the brightest in history of ladies figure skating!

And some funny news. Orser took Medvedeva from Eteri. Now Eteri is taking Liza Tursynbaeva from Orser. I don't have enough popcorn for all of this

Sad news from ISU Congress today.
Proposal to split panel of judges into 2 failed (1st panel is for technical socre, 2nd panel is for components score (skating skills, music interpretation etc.)
Backloading dramatically limited

That's because dance «lives» better — off the ice. Overdoing it with make up, crazy facial expressions won't make up for the fact that figure skating is inherently less flexible than ballet for example. Those pictures magnify the notion of «cheap theatrics».

Couldn't agree more about cheap theatrics, but there are some ice dancers who are classy
Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir (Olympic Champions 2018)

And ice dancers from France
Gabriella PAPADAKIS / Guillaume CIZERON

But for me they are just an exception to the common rule. And to be honest, I don't consider ice dance a sport. It's a show where judges can shuffle skaters on the podium as they like.
